Sugar is one of the most addictive substances in our diet and serves little or no purpose, research has shown that sugar is by far the most consumed addictive substance in the world and is destroying our health. Processed sugars have little or no nutritional value, they have to go. Caffeine has been shown to inhibit our body's ability to regulate blood sugar. When you cut out sugar, the best advice is to replace your coffee with green tea to make your life easier.


Tip #2 - Eat more often Try to have a few snacks between meals, but at regular times every day. Eating more but meeting your recommended calorie intake each day reduces hunger and, as a result, the temptation to overeat. When your regular meal arrives, it will be easier to eat standard portions because you won't be as hungry as usual. It helps to get rid of the habit of going for a second portion or piling the plate higher than you should, as I sometimes do.


Tip #3 – Eat More Fiber is one of the untested secrets of weight loss. Increase your daily intake of fruits, vegetables and nuts. Include 7 portions of fruit, vegetables, legumes and a handful of nuts in your daily menu. You don't need to worry about counting calories with these servings, as they are likely to be a huge improvement on your existing diet. The more healthy foods you eat, the less you will crave unhealthy snacks.


Tip #4 – Create a meal plan While you are making these small changes to your diet, it is important that they become a permanent part of your life. When you write something down, it's much harder to ignore it. When you plan your meals a few days in advance, it will focus on your shopping and reduce the time you spend at the supermarket.
